Tigers Tackle Top 5 SWAU
Champion Christian used a balanced scoring attack and a decisive edge on the glass to pull away from Southwestern Adventist for an 82–63 road win Monday night (Feb. 9, 2026) in Keene, Texas.
Champion Christian led 36–26 at halftime, then widened the gap with a 46-point second half to close out the 19-point victory. The Tigers shot 49.2% (31-of-63) from the field and knocked down 11 threes, while holding Southwestern Adventist to 36.7% shooting (22-of-60) and just 3 made threes on 16 attempts (18.8%).
What decided it
Rebounding and perimeter production were the difference. Champion Christian won the rebounding battle 42–24 (including 33 defensive boards) and generated consistent offense from beyond the arc (11-of-30). Southwestern Adventist struggled to match that spacing, and despite getting to the line (16-of-23), couldn't overcome the cold outside shooting and second-chance limitations.
